LION VESSEL

A ceramic vessel made of light clay, decorated with blue engobes and finished with a transparent glaze. A relatively large figure of a standing lion with a lid on its back and a storage capacity of 330 ml. While the symbolism of the lion has long been associated with strength and protection (read: war) or royal power, I lean toward the Buddhist interpretation of wisdom — and also embrace the Chinese symbolism of prosperity.

Each object is made as a one-of-a-kind piece. Creating an identical one wouldn’t be possible — nor something I’d want to try. If the piece is sold but you still feel you must have it, please get in touch. It’s always possible to make a similar one to order. The process and delivery may take some time — I kindly ask for your patience. But once it’s yours, it will be forever, so a few weeks of waiting might be worth it.
